The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) has today rubbished President William Ruto’s continued promises, saying the president must stop the culture of giving promises and concentrate on delivering on the promises he made during the campaign.
Speaking at Rohi Girls High School in Nakuru during the closure of a one-week camp for over 1000 ACK youths, ACK Nakuru Diocese Bishop, Anthony Mambo reiterated the Church’s call to President William Ruto’s administration to address the harsh economic situation.
The bishop called out Dr Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Administration for allegedly perpetuating a “culture of lies”, including failure to honour his campaign pledges and imposing punitive and exploitative policies.
Bishop Mambo said Kenyans pay a lot of taxes, which should be reflected in service delivery to the people through development.
Mambo urged the government to address pressing concerns from the controversial Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) overhaul and inadequate education funding to the heavy tax burden squeezing ordinary Kenyans.
