Eric Ten Hag Sacked by Struggling Manchester United

54-year-old Erik ten Hag, a Dutch professional football manager has parted ways after being shown the exit door by once giants but currently struggling Premier League club Manchester United.

Ten Hag has spent close to 850 days at the helm of the Manchester coaching throne, and he was projected for success. However, the team has struggled under his tenure, securing only one victory in recent games in all competitions.

Red Devils sits 14th in the premier league even after the British billion tycoon Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s £1.25bn deal for a 27.7% stake was completed in February this year.

Several managers have been touted for the lucrative Job at Old-Trafford including reports that;

The Glazers of Manchester United have approached Sporting for Rúben Amorim as the favourite candidate to replace Erik ten Hag. Talks ongoing with Contract terms have also been discussed with Rúben Amorim’s camp in the recent hours after efforts to secure services to land Brentford man Thomas Frank were downplayed by Frank himself.

“I have a responsibility to Brentford, the fans, the board, the players, and the staff. What will happen in the future, who knows… but I am very happy here,” said Frank

After Ten Hag’s sacking, Ruud van Nistelrooy was made Man United interim manager with the decision having been made internally.

Ten Hag’s appointment was announced in April 2022 and he led Manchester United club to two domestic trophies, winning the EFL Cup in 2022/23 and the FA Cup last season.

Eric Ten Hag left AFC Ajax at its prime for the lucrative and admirable role at Manchester United.

Ten Hag played as a centre-back and began his career with Eredivisie club Twente. He joined De Graafschap in 1990 and won the Eerste Divisie in his first season.
