Kehancha Police Investigate Death of Local Football Official

Authorities in Kehancha, Migori County, are investigating the death of a football official who passed away following an attack on Saturday night under unclear circumstances.

The incident took place in Ilerege village, Bukira Central Ward.

Assistant Chief Chacha Sagamo confirmed the incident, identifying the victim as Moi Ottomax, a farmer involved in managing local football activities.

“The victim sustained a chest injury, which caused severe bleeding. Sadly, he succumbed to the injury while being rushed to the hospital,” Sagamo said.

Witnesses reported that a man from the same area, believed to be the suspect, was seen pursuing Ottomax through the streets of Ikerege Shopping Centre. The individual, who was armed with a knife, allegedly caught up with the victim and inflicted the fatal injury.

Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who is said to have fled the scene.

The victim’s body is being preserved at the Kehancha Sub-County Hospital morgue as investigations continue.
