During the virtual briefing on Monday 28th October, County Executive Committee (CEC) Member for Health Roselyn Mungai emphasized the department’s commitment to maintaining high service standards. She highlighted the importance of these sessions in coordinating operations, assessing the previous week’s activities, and planning for the week ahead.
“We are dedicated to ensuring that all health services run seamlessly across Nakuru County,” This platform allows us to address issues as they arise and take proactive steps through a collaborative, multi-stakeholder approach,” said Mungai.
The health leadership team discussed various challenges faced at different levels of healthcare management and service delivery. Mungai underscored the significance of teamwork and effective communication between healthcare management tiers in providing timely interventions and solutions. In addition to the surveillance review, the Department of Health Services has been overseeing the distribution of essential medical supplies and pharmaceuticals to health facilities throughout Nakuru County since last week.
This initiative aims to strengthen healthcare support and ensure that all residents have access to necessary medications and treatments.
“The uninterrupted supply of drugs and essential medical items is one of our top priorities. We want to ensure that every facility is well-stocked to effectively serve the community,” noted Mungai
These efforts reflect the county’s ongoing commitment to enhancing healthcare systems and fostering a healthier population by tackling challenges proactively and ensuring robust support for all residents. The department’s virtual briefings and steady supply chain management are expected to bolster coordination and service availability, critical components of Nakuru County’s healthcare strategy.
