Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdulahi Allude to Malice by an MP from the Region and Dela MCA Yusuf Ahmed after Six Months of Dissappearance

Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdulahi is linking political players in his county to a press conference by recently abducted and released Dela MCA Yusuf Ahmed, accusing him of orchestrating the ordeal that kept him away, incommunicado, for 6 months.

According to Governor Abdulahi, an MP from his county, whom he did not mention directly, is fully behind the statement released by the MCA, whom he says has now lost favour even with his family.

During a press conference in Nairobi, organized after a 4-hour meeting that involved elders and a majority of MPs from the county, governor Abdulahi termed his linkage to the abduction as absurd, insisting he would forthwith record a statement with the directorate of criminal investigations (DCI) as well as sue the MCA for linking him to the abductions, demanding thorough investigations.

Earlier, before the governor did his press conference, MPs who were holed up in a meeting with him and some elders, had issued a hurried press conference, where they only allowed Wajir East MP Aden Dawood to address the press in a 2-minute speech that insisted on using legal and social structures in the community to address the issue.

Governor Ahmed believes his political detractors are fully behind his linkage to tarnish his name at the national stage, especially now that he chairs the Council of Governors, giving him a national outlook and reach

The governor has also questioned the character of a certain MP whom he says has always been against his ascension politically, especially now that he is serving a second term.
