Susan Mang’eni, Principal Secretary of the State Department of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), has urged women entrepreneurs to use Kenya’s growing foreign diplomacy to capitalise on emerging export opportunities.

The principal secretary was speaking during the AccelerateHER Trade Summit, organised by the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI), an initiative of the Government of the Netherlands, in conjunction with the Passion To Profit Initiative.
The summit resonates deeply with Kenya’s bilateral vision to promote trade as a sustainable tool for development, mutual knowledge exchange, and the strengthening of diplomatic and economic relations.
Trade, when inclusive, becomes more than a transactional exchange—it becomes a channel for equity, dignity, and growth.
PS Susan Mang’eni communicated the State Department of MSMEs’ vision for strengthened partnerships between women entrepreneurs and trade support institutions, increased knowledge on trade facilitation and market access, and the enhancement of business linkages and potential trade deals.
Further, I reaffirm the Government’s commitment to 40% local sourcing and encourage women entrepreneurs to take advantage of the preferential public procurement under the Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO) framework.
