Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano has lauded Major (Rtd) Twalib Mbarak for his outstanding leadership and dedication during his six-year tenure as the Chief Executive Officer of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)

Speaking during a farewell dinner in Nairobi, CS Miano acknowledged Major (Rtd) Mbarak’s steadfast commitment to upholding integrity, transparency, and accountability in public service.
She highlighted his instrumental role in promoting ethical governance, strengthening institutional frameworks, and fostering public confidence in the fight against corruption.
“Major (Rtd) Twalib Mbarak has demonstrated an exceptional level of dedication to the ideals of integrity and accountability.
His tenure at the EACC has been marked by significant milestones, including recovering public assets and prosecuting key corruption cases, which have had a far-reaching impact on our nation’s governance and development,” said CS Miano.
She further emphasized the importance of integrity in all sectors, including tourism and wildlife conservation, and reiterated her ministry’s commitment to supporting efforts that combat corruption.
“Tourism and wildlife are key pillars of our economy, and transparency is vital to ensure their sustainability.
We must build on the foundation laid by leaders like Major (Rtd) Mbarak to uphold ethics and accountability in our work,” she added.
CS Miano concluded by wishing Major (Rtd) Mbarak success in his future endeavours, urging him to continue being a beacon of integrity and service for the country.
