A businessman, Kennedy Oketch has told the DCI how Cynthia Muthoni Kamau and Rose Wambui Kamau, a lady and her mother conned him millions of shillings in a shoddy shoe importation fraud
Oketch told the detectives based at the Kilimani police station how he was duped into the scam by the duo.
He narrated days after the detectives from Kilimani Police Station in Nairobi arrested the two women, a woman and her mother, in connection to a well-organised fraud syndicate.
Cynthia Muthoni Kamau and Rose Wambui Kamau were nabbed last week and accused of conning Kennedy Oketch for Sh4.5 million by lying to him that they were in a position to import his shoes of the said amount from China.
Oketch told detectives before their arrests that the two con women used trucks to steal his money.
Cynthia Muthoni Kamau and the mother Rose Wambui Kamau will be arraigned in court on Thursday to face the charges of obtaining money by false pretences and conspiracy to defraud the complainant contrary to the law
