Speaking at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) during Kindiki’s swearing-in ceremony, President Ruto admitted to feeling overwhelmed by the task of articulating government policies alone.

“I was lonely in explaining government programmes and policies to Kenyans,” President Ruto confessed to the gathered audience. “Now, I have found someone who can help me communicate our agenda effectively.”

The Head of State expressed confidence in Kindiki’s capabilities, citing his extensive academic background and previous government experience. “Professor Kindiki brings intellectual rigour and clear communication skills to this office,” he stated.

President Ruto highlighted the importance of having a deputy who understands government operations thoroughly. “In Professor Kindiki, we have someone who has served in various capacities and comprehends the intricate workings of government machinery,” he remarked.

The President emphasised the significance of proper communication in governance, noting that many government initiatives have failed to gain public support due to poor explanations.

“Many good programmes have been misunderstood because we didn’t explain them well to Kenyans,” Ruto acknowledged. “With Professor Kindiki’s help, we will ensure our people understand what we are doing for them.”

Addressing concerns about the recent political transition, President Ruto assured Kenyans that the change in the deputy presidency would not disrupt government operations.

“This administration remains focused on delivering its promises to Kenyans,” he stated. “The appointment of Professor Kindiki strengthens our capability to serve the people better.”

The President outlined several areas where he expects Kindiki to make an immediate impact, including public communication, policy implementation, and coordination with various government departments.

“Professor Kindiki will help us streamline our communication channels and ensure that government policies are properly understood and implemented,” Ruto explained.

The Head of State also praised Kindiki’s track record in public service, particularly his tenure as Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration.

“His performance in the security docket demonstrates his ability to handle complex national issues,” President Ruto noted. “This experience will be invaluable in his new role.”

Looking ahead, the President expressed optimism about working with Kindiki to advance the government’s agenda. “Together, we will ensure that every Kenyan understands and benefits from our development programmes,” he declared.

The ceremony was attended by high-ranking government officials, diplomats, and citizens who witnessed this historic transition in Kenya’s leadership.

President Ruto concluded his address by calling for unity and support from all Kenyans. “As we welcome Professor Kindiki to this office, let us remain focused on building a prosperous nation for all,” he urged.

The swearing-in ceremony marks a new chapter in Kenya’s political landscape, with both leaders expressing commitment to improved governance and effective communication with citizens.
