Rogue Pastor Elius Njau on the Loose After Attempted Murder of Lover

Elius Njau, who is the chairman of JCM Church owned by Ben Kiengei, allegedly chopped his love Shiko into pieces using a knife, leaving her for dead. She luckily survived and is currently in the ICU.

Pastor Elius Njau is currently being sought by police following an alleged stabbing incident involving his lover, Florence Wanjiku, in Nakuru. The attack occurred on November 21, 2024, during a domestic dispute that left Wanjiku critically injured. After the incident, Njau fled the scene, prompting a manhunt by law enforcement.

According to reports, the couple had met earlier that day to discuss personal and business matters at an entertainment venue. Wanjiku later returned home, unaware that Njau had followed her. Upon reaching her gate, she was confronted by him.

“We had a smooth conversation earlier, but when I got home, he attacked me without warning,” Wanjiku recounted from her hospital bed at Optimum Hospital in Nakuru.

Witnesses described a harrowing scene as Njau allegedly dragged Wanjiku from her car and began stabbing her multiple times. “He attacked me with such force; I tried to defend myself but ended up losing my fingers,” she said tearfully. Neighbors heard her cries for help and rushed to intervene, preventing further harm.

Wanjiku sustained serious injuries, including deep wounds to her head and limbs. She was quickly transported to the hospital for emergency treatment. However, reports indicate that Njau attempted to reach her at the hospital later that day but was stopped by security personnel.

The couple had been in a tumultuous relationship and co-invested in a real estate business together. Wanjiku expressed that their relationship had deteriorated, leading her to seek separation. “He refused to accept our breakup and had been making it difficult for me to manage our business,” she explained.

The incident has sparked outrage among local leaders and human rights advocates. Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru condemned the attack, calling for swift action from law enforcement. “This tragic incident highlights the urgent need to address gender-based violence in our society,” she stated. “We must ensure that justice is served and that such acts of violence are not tolerated.”

Nakuru County Chief Officer for Gender, Gladys Kamuren, echoed these sentiments, urging calm as police continue their search for Njau. “Now we have a woman fighting for her life and a fugitive on the run,” she noted, emphasizing the need for peaceful conflict resolution.

The Jesus Crusaders Ministry Church, with which Njau is affiliated, has distanced itself from his actions. Church officials released a statement reaffirming their commitment to family values and urging justice to take its course. They emphasized that individual actions do not reflect the church’s mission.
As investigations proceed, police have recorded Wanjiku’s statement and are actively pursuing leads to locate Njau. The attack comes amid rising concerns over gender-based violence in Kenya, with recent reports indicating an increase in such incidents across the country.

The search for Pastor Elias Njau continues as authorities work diligently to apprehend him following the brutal attack on Florence Wanjiku. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges related to domestic violence and the urgent need for effective measures to protect vulnerable individuals in society.
