President William Ruto on Thursday met With AUC Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat, in Addis Ababa Ethiopia ahead of the Union elections set for Saturday.
Faki, who has been at the helm of AUC for two consecutive terms of four years each is set to witness the next Chairperson with Kenya’s Raila battling it up with main rival from Djibouti

Ruto hailed Faki’s leadership stating, “The African Union has increasingly become a strong voice for the continent and its Member States. We will continue revamping our organisation to make it fit for purpose to effectively deal with political, economic, and peace and security challenges.”
President Ruto’s remarks when he met African Union Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
He also congratulated him for his sterling role at the Commission in the past eight years and wished him success in his future endeavours.
