An official from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission was Sunday morning found murdered at her home in Utange, Mombasa County.
According to police, Aisha Abubakar was killed by two assailants who broke into her house, using a crowbar and a knife to end her life.
“Waliruka kuta mbili ambayo ni main gate na kuingia gate ya pili ambayo ni ya mama na kuna askari ndani masai,” said Fuad Said, a family Member.
She was attacked together with her son who is still recuperating in a hospital.
Family, friends and even colleagues of the deceased, Aisha Abubakar, gathered at Premier Hospital in Mombasa where her lifeless body was lying.
Aisha who is an employee of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission was murdered by two assailants together with her 18-year-old son who sustained serious injuries.
According to the family members, the son was trying to rescue her mother from her assailants but ended up being a victim of the brutal attack.
